Addiction therapy is different than traditional therapy models. It is geared specifically to substance abuse disorders and process addictions. Arbor House is committed to helping clients achieve a chemical-free life while simultaneously stabilizing any co-occurring disorders that may exist.
A co-occurring disorder is when a client has two or more diagnosis taking place at the same time. For example, more times than not, substance abuse disorders are accompanied by anxiety and depression.
Arbor House recognizes that all conflict-bearing issues must be addressed. However, before this can happen, a discontinuation of substance abuse must be achieved. Issues like childhood trauma and relationship discord are addressed only after this takes place and co-occurring disorders are stabilized.
Arbor House understands that people require different levels of care. We encourage our clients to participate in the design of their treatment because we understand that in order to be successful, a creative recovery process is required. This requires the client’s participation.
